The Unexpected Upjog is a mechanical method for producing one to several cards from a table spread. It happens instantaneously and automatically and is a surprising way to produce either a selection or the four Aces. The concept has no doubt been around for decades, but as far as we know, no sure-fire technique has ever been published... until now. 

Doc Docherty, creator of the Groove Electric Switch, is at it again with another highly visual and not too difficult card sleight, this time in the form of a revelation - literally!

A one card switch, an add-on, a color change, an alternative to the double lift! The Undercover Switch is a versatile sleight created by Ken Krenzel & Bary Price and heavily refined by Kostya Kimlat. In this tutorial Kostya not only thoroughly explains the mechanics, but provides considerable insight on how the sleight can be used to its fullest potential.

A sublime combination of the classic Hofzinser Ace Problem & Twisting the Aces into a single multi-phased routine to bring forth a modern approach to these otherwise antiquated card tricks.

The three of clubs is shown at the fingertips in the left hand. You explain how the pips on the card are removable and you pinch the center pip of the three with the fingertips of the right hand. In a quick action, you visually pull off the center pip of the three leaving the ace of clubs in your right hand the two of clubs in your left hand. These cards can be cleanly shown front and back. You can then go on to replace the pip by tossing the ace into the two in which it visually transforms back into the three.

This trick is so visual. The cards are always at the fingertips and face up. No duplicate cards or gimmicks required.

Several years ago we introduced you to Pixel, the visual masterpiece from David Jade that has since become one of our best selling tricks. Then came Trigger and now Valdemar Gestur is back at it with Trixel. In hindsight, Trixel is the reverse effect to Pixel. Instead of causing a selected card to leap to the top, free from the rubber band, you trap the selection with the rubber band after wrapping it around the entire deck moments before. In card magic, controlling multiple selections simultaneously is an invaluable utility move that opens the doors to countless opportunities.
