Smooth, classy back design, durable, beautiful card box and a real eye catcher. This deck is just perfect for performing cadistry but not magic. Overall great deck and you will love it.

It is a great deck, but I do not use it for magic. That's why I just gave it 4 stars. The design is amazing, though. You need to buy them and play with them. It is very different than other decks, and I LOVE the Jacks, Queens, and Kings. Buy it and you will, too!

The Sentinels are unequivocally beautiful - a true masterwork in the design of the front and back of a card and the box itself. But Theory11's finish does not do this deck justice. The deck does everything well but fan, as many others have said. The box is also very susceptible to damage and leads to my recommendation - buy it and keep it. This deck is unfortunately not a performing deck. But it sure is gorgeous.

Let me start that I love the design of the decks. New back designs are every other week, but the fact that they took the time to redesign the faces actually means a lot to me. The new pips and font for the numbers, and the totally redesigned court cards look amazing. I kind of how that maybe Theory 11 or the Buck twins would adopt the faces as the standard faces for the decks they put out. They are beautiful and I love showing them off.
The handling is a little different story. They have a very slick, plasticity feel that is odd among the custom decks. At first they were so slick I couldn't keep them in my hands, they'd just slide out Lennert Green style (but it wasn't intentional like him). After a few hours they started to clump and stick. They seemed to wear out really quickly.
I'd say buy one deck, because they are beautiful and I'd love to see more decks get total, unique redesigns. But don't plan on these becoming your new performing deck.

The sleek look of the court cards combined with such a beauitfull box and stand out back design make these a great addition to any collection. They're just a pleasure to handle and perform with too. Not to mention everything being custom is just wonderful - it captures the audiences eye right away.

I bought a few of these decks like a year ago and haven't really opened them until now. I have heard too many good things about these decks and have decided to finally open and experience one for myself. Once I opened it, I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. The restraining from opening one for a year and only admiring the beauty and design of the tuck box from behind the plastic wrapping. The tuck box was very beautifully designed, having embrossed features in 20 places. The cards themselves are the stars. They fan really well and feel really nice thanks to the all new 909 Premium Finish. The design of the cards themselves are beautiful. The court cards have been redesigned to create a sort of medieval theme with the Kings, Queens and Jacks. The Ace is also intricately designed. Overall, this deck is one of the ultimate decks that will make my 'Top Decks' list.

Almost everything about this deck is perfect. I love the way the fans look and they are my favorite deck to flourish with. The only thing that I dislike about the Sentinels is that the pips don't show very well in a fan. Everything else is top notch. The tuck case is amazing, and the card stock is very thick and durable. Overall, they're very nice pasteboards.

After hearing about these cards from www.notcot.org, I simply had to have them, having never before been much into the collection of playing cards in the past. Every bit of detail and work put into this deck of cards, from it's box, to it's back design, it's court cards, and it's overall theme for the occult & Illuminati, had convinced me to invest what is a considerable amount of money to a layman (For cards). Every time I look at my first deck - now perhaps a year old - I do not regret it. It's refinement and sophistication in it's deceptively minimal design for the ace of spades, court cards and jokers puts it very much at home in an upscale environment.

I think that if you enjoy cards, you owe it to yourself to have at least one deck of Sentinels. Few decks go as far to create a new and unique look, and the minimalistic design of these is wonderful. I realize that perhaps for magicians the standard Bicycle look is more appropriate, but as a designed object the Sentinels are fantastic. The box features lots of detail and subtle use of metallics, nice embossing and lots of visual interest. The cards, while certainly very black-and-white have a flair that few other decks do, mainly from their almost modernist approach to the fonts, pip design and court card portraits. Some reviewers seem to think they don't handle well, but that hasn't been my personal experience. On the whole, because they pushed the boundaries with design, the Sentinels have earned a spot as one of the favorites of my collection.

The deck's design is amazing. The custom face cards, back, and box are perfect. But the handling of the deck disappoints me. At first, the deck is really good. But after awhile, the cards loose their ability to fan well. They're still good for Sybil though.
