Expert at the card tables is a book that all card magicians need. It is an essential book teaching all sorts of sleight of hand. This book is historic; even Jason England uses it! And about the indestructible part of this book: I brought this school and told my friend that it is waterproof, but he didn't believe me. During the lesson, I accidentally hit my water bottle and spilt water on the book. It wasn't damaged, but my school books were damaged! :D

This is an awesome product, although the title is slightly misleading because this book isn't 100% indestructible. Put it in the mixer, and say goodbye to it. Other than that, I think it is an amazing addition to an already amazing book!

Any version of "Expert at the Card Table" should be in everyone's library (well maybe not the cardistry group). This book has all the basic sleights a card sharp or magician would ever need. But why buy the plain old bible version when you can have an indestructible version! The text is quite clear and can be read easily, but keep in mind that it is a small book so naturally the text is quite small. You can bring it every where, including the shower (proven fact). Blind shuffles, blind cuts, culling, many different palming techniques, and so much more. This is a classic book that has been around for a century and will probably be around for another.

There's a reason why this book is available in "bible" editions like this one - it's a basic resource for magicians (and yes, card cheats) even after all these years. Despite being over a century old, it remains relevant and even accessible despite the early 20th-century writing style. I'm finding it easier to read than "The Royal Road to Card Magic" despite the fact that it's twice as old. Even if you're not a magician or a card cheat, if you play, you'll want to know this book - there's nothing like knowing thine enemy at the card table, right? I'm told there's some info regarding flourishes, but it's certainly not targeted to the cardistry audience, considering that the term and the art form didn't even exist as a separate category from magic when the book was written, nor was it anywhere near as developed.

Not only is this a convenient pocket edition about the size of a smallish smartphone, but the plastic-film pages and thick, durable-looking cover make it a book that will literally go anywhere with you and still hold up. You can feel a slight difference in the texture of the pages compared to a paper book, but they're close enough to the look and feel of paper that you really won't care - after all, it's the words on the pages that you want! It's worth the extra five bucks to get this version over the standard pocket bible edition; you'd go through a handful of those before you'd have to replace this one. Mine's been in my coat pocket around a month now, going with me everywhere - aside from a little of the gold-foil print of the cover's title wearing off, the book looks brand new.

The Conjuring Arts Research Center did a fine job creating this volume, and I haven't seen other online magic retailers carrying it until now. You now have absolutely no excuse to not be brushing up on your research anywhere, except perhaps a lack of pockets...

As many people may know already, this book is considered a bible of card manipulation. While the content are important and essential to card magicians once understood, this book is no place for a beginner in card magic. The way it is written is not very descriptive nor are there enough illustrations to make up for the lack of details. I'm considering the purchase of The Annotated Erdnase or Revelations, and so far from what I heard, either seem better place to start than the actual Erdnase.

This version is certainly waterproof; it has special treatment on the cover and its pages. I even tried filling the sink with water and dropping it in. While this did not effect the book it was a little tedious to get the water out from between pages. I have not yet tried ripping the book, but the pages certainly seem durable. It is a little taller than a deck of cards, so it is very portable. The prints are quite clear and is not difficult to read in terms of legibility (despite being a small book).

What a brilliant idea to create a version of The Expert at the Card Table that is indestructible. I love the fact that you could read it in the shower.

This book held the secrets that made me not only take magic seriously, but respect the art form. The fact that it's now indestructible ensures that it will continue to inspire and educate you for a lifetime, and also, prevent you from having to replace your copy of yellowing pages yet again.
