"During the preparation of this book careful thought was given as to which routines should be included. The tricks are entertaining, the sleights are latent means to an end result. The articulate manner of text and illustration was due to our enthusiasm to thoroughly acclimate the reader with every minute characteristic of each move. If then, you utilize only a few of these items, the purpose of this book will have been fulfilled." - Jim Steranko

Steranko burst upon the scene with a book and two highly sought after articles in Genii magazine, one on card magic and one on escapes. He quickly became well known for his clever and innovative sleight of hand, and his book, Steranko on Cards, has become a classic, the material still cutting edge to this day.
If you take a look at his book, one thing you will notice are the striking illustrations. Steranko later became one of the leading illustrators in the comic book industry and is very well known in that field. Unfortunately, he pretty much lost interest in magic due to an unfortunate series of events involving a second book he had been working on entitled The Ultimate Move, which has sadly never been published.
